Alignment (整列Seiretsu), known as Personality in Wizardry Variants Daphne is a recurring gameplay mechanic in the Wizardry franchise and a representation for the adventurers during character creation with the exception of Nemesis: The Wizardry Adventure and Dark Savant Trilogy games.
Alignment are usually consists of good, neutral and evil which they can be important during certain parts such as using alignment-specific equipments, assigning their alignment-specific classes during character creation and acquiring key items that requires specific alignment. Good and evil members may change their alignment by attacking or leaving encounters whom they are not hostile against party members.
In the original game, assigning members in the tavern cannot go along in the same party whose alignment are opposite between good and evil unless they're neutral or assigning them in a dungeon, certain games such as Wizardry Empire for the Game Boy Color, BUSIN series and Wizardry Variants Daphne are the only exemption, allowing party members can be assigned in it regardless of their alignment.
