Novel Wizardry: Ash & Youth Side by Side is a fantasy novel based on Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord written by Japanese author Benny Matsuyama. It was serialized in JICC Publishing's (now Takarajimasha) Famicom Hisshobon (ファミコン必勝本) magazine before its complete publication in November of 1988 with additions and corrections. The novel was succeeded by Novel Wizardry II: The Wind. Is it Reaching the Dragon? in 1994.
An adapted manga reboot, Record of Wicked Sorcerer: Ash & Youth was made later in 2022 without Wizardry franchise terminologies due to trademark issues.
