Faeries are one of the races of Wizardry usable for character generation in the Cosmic Forge Saga games. Resembling the sprites and pixies found in traditional stories and myths about faeries, they are tiny human-like beings with wings of various color. Due to their size, they are very fast, but not that strong. They can dodge attacks more effectively than larger races, which translates to superior Armor Classes in the games (reduced armor class in Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge and Wizardry VII: Crusaders of the Dark Savant, or increased armor class in Wizardry 8). Their diminutive size restricts their choices in weapons and armor, but they also can find equipment and gear made specifically for them. Their innate, magical nature means they can recover magic power quicker than other races. They are beautiful, smart, and friendly creatures.

With their unparalleled intelligence, Faeries are good choices for psionics or mages, as they have great intelligence, though they aren't very robust. Their incredible speed makes them effective monks or ninjas.

Trivia

  • The race's name has been consistently spelled Faerie in the series, despite fairy being a synonym in real life.
  • One of the most renowned weapons in the Cosmic Forge Saga games, the Cane of Corpus, is only usable by faerie ninjas. It first appears in Wizardry VII and can be acquired again in Wizardry 8.
