The PC Engine CD (known as TurboGrafx-CD in outside Japan, abbreviated as "'PCE"') was an add-on for the PC Engine 16-bit console, which allows the core console to play their CD-format games. Released in 1988.

An upgraded version called Super CD-ROM², which updates the BIOS and increases VRAM side was introduced in 1991 and released separately on December 13. There are none of Wizardry games was ever developed for the original PC Engine console, and none of their games was released outside Japan on TurboGrafx-CD.
