The Apple II (stylized as apple ][) was an 8-bit personal computer originally released by Apple Corporation in 1977. The Apple II series saw healthy sales and new models continued to be released and supported until 1993. It was the original platform for which Wizardry and many other classic computer role-playing games such as the Ultima series were developed. Wizardry used the Apple Pascal runtime which allowed the game to be quickly ported to other computer platforms on which a Pascal runtime had been developed.
List of Games
- Wizardry: Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord (1981)
- Wizardry II: The Knight of Diamonds (1982)
- Wizardry III: Legacy of Llylgamyn (1983)
- Wizardry IV: The Return of Werdna (1987)
- Wizardry V: Heart of the Maelstrom (1988)
Trivia
- The late release of the Apple Pascal runtime on Apple II caused Wizardry itself to not be released until 1981, during which time Greenberg and Woodhead continued to tweak and balance the game.[1]
