The Protagonist is the main character whom the player controls in Wizardry Variants Daphne. He is followed around by Lulunarde, the ghost of an adventurer that only he can see and speak to.
At the start of the game, the player is asked 10 different questions with 3 choices each; this determines the stat distribution and their personality.
The Protagonist's right hand is able to reverse time for certain things, restoring them to their original condition. The ability can revive people after they've died, and can even revive someone from a skeleton. In addition, junk can be changed back to useable weapons.

Reversing seems to be rather exhausting to the Protagonist. When he attempted to ressurect human flesh packed into cubes by Warped Ones, it didn't react. Some skeletons and corpses are unable to be resurrected.
For the player, this acts as a minigame where a larger circle shrinks into a smaller circle. Tapping when the larger circle is in the smaller circle will reverse the object. If the selection is just small enough, ~10% of his health will also be restored. If the selection is outside of the zone, he'll be Paralyzed and take ~25% of his health as damage. If a teammate dies during combat, you'll be given the option to revive them. The circle moves much faster, and the available space to resurrect will shrink depending on how much Fortitude they've lost. Choosing not to revive them will leave them dead until you return to town (if before a Greater Harken), or revived in the Temple.

Ending combat, whether by killing or fleeing Lesser Demons, restores the character's health back up to 24/246 and grants no experience. Oddly, he is a No Grade despite being level 30. He is a Human Male Wanderer with a Neutral alignment. The character is equipped with:
