Wizardry Chapter 1 is a dungeon-crawler game for Java-based mobile specifically for early Siemens and Nokia phones released on August 2003 by Mobile Scope (now acquired by In-Fusio).
Plot
Gameplay
Before starting a new game, player must create a character akin to Wizardry: Tale of the Forsaken Land referred to as "Hero", changing default name is exemption, there are only four initial classes and races can be chosen depending by unique four stats categories.
As like in every Wizardry games, the gameplay exploration is entirely in first-person view with grid-based movement. The game starts with a Hero waking up in a cell with a hangover followed by town after talking to a guard named Harry. Certain objects, places, non-playable characters can be interacted by simply walking towards to them or entering it. Player can also hire recruitable characters up to three onto party member, some characters can only be hired after meeting certain conditions.
The combat are now represented in new side view with enemies on the left and party members on the right instead of usual first-person, there are actions for each characters are selected from a menu with five icon-based commands available.
Chapter 1 was released specifically for Nokia 3650/3660/6600/7650/N-Gage and Siemens C55/M50/M55/MT50/S55 series of mobile phones with Java 2 Micro Edition minimum MIDP 1.0 support.

Trivia
- According to the game page on official website, Chapter 1 seemingly to be based on Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord, but clearly has nothing to do with its origin story.
- Chapter 1 was the first mobile phone game ever made in English preceded by Wizrogue: Labyrinth of Wizardry localization by Forever Entertainment then Wizardry Variants Daphne.
