There are occasional references to the Wizardry franchise within popular cultures and other media properties. This page exists to document these references. Crossover appearances of Wizardry characters (such as in the Final Fantasy Agito) are not included on this list.
Video games
Dragon Quest series
The series was a subject of greatly influenced by Wizardry franchise such as the iconic Slime mascot according to the creator Yuji Horī,[1] and most the general gameplay mechanics.
Star Ocean: Till the End of Time
Exclusively in the Japanese region, there is a Murphy's Ghost monster reference where the player asks Puffy telling what her name is. One of the answer is the wrong one, Murphy. When selected, Puffy complains that she's not some law or "some pesky ghost for racking up experience points".
Other medias
Goblin Slayer
The series was a subject of taking inspirations from Wizardry franchise. This eventually Drecom Media went created Blade & Bastard series with writer Kumo Kagyu.
In Goblin Slayer Side Story II: Dai Katana manga. Wizball was directly referenced in chapter 5 page.
Delicious in Dungeon
According to Ryoko Kui's interview with Famitsu in February 2024, Delicious in Dungeon was hugely inspired by Wizardry VI: Bane of the Cosmic Forge.[2][3]
