The term name is originating from Wizardry role-playing video game series in 1981 since Proving Grounds of the Mad Overlord. It also commonly known as "Wizclones" or "Wizlike" (ウィズライク, Uizuraiku). In Japan, they referred the term as "Wizardry-style" (ウィザードリィ風, Uizādorī Fū).
